Leadership Kentucky Recognizes Lindsey Sanson with Lisa Murrell Award

Leadership Kentucky, one of the nation’s oldest and most esteemed leadership programs, announced Lindsey Sanson, as the recipient of the 2022 Lisa Murrell Award. Sanson is the Assistant Vice President Business Development & Marketing for American Bank & Trust.

“It’s my absolute and complete honor to have been chosen as the 2022 Leadership Kentucky Lisa Murrell Award Recipient. And, I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to travel across the state learning about our exceptional communities throughout the Commonwealth and how we can move our state forward,” said Sanson. “Most of all, I’m blessed by the lifelong relationships formed with my classmates, who are the most kind, selfless and uplifting people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. The future of the Commonwealth is very bright!”

The Lisa Murrell Award is presented annually in honor and loving memory of Lisa Murrell, a member the Leadership Kentucky Class of 2008. The recipient of the award is a current class member who embodies the spirit of Lisa: Courage, Compassion, Dedication, and Selflessness. The recipient is chosen by fellow classmates. Sanson was described by her cohorts as “thoughtful, kind, and a true pleasure to interact with…a kind heart and a genuine spirit shows at all times.”

“Year after year, we have the privilege of bringing together future leaders of our great Commonwealth.  I am honored to have had the opportunity to watch Lindsey flourish in the program, always demonstrating her strong and selfless character,” said Janice Way, Leadership Kentucky President. “Lindsey is a compassionate and thoughtful leader. She engaged with everyone in her class and made a concerted effort to create a lasting bond with all she encountered. Her smile lights up a room!”

In addition to the award, the Lisa Murrell Scholarship Fund assists future Leadership Kentucky class members who may need financial assistance to participate.
