The Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has announced two new additions to the board during National Tourism Week. Both members are owners of local, popular attractions.
Traveler’s Cellar Winery co-owner Derrick Huff joins the tourism board with several years of entrepreneurial and adventure travel experience. His award-winning boutique winery, Traveler’s Cellar, is a Bowling Green staple with several, wellearned Commissioner’s Cup awards. Huff is also the Derrick Huff visionary behind Bowling Green’s upand-coming wine bar, Mustang Club, fashioned from the State Street High School’s gymnasium in the Historic Shake Rag District. Inspired by the school’s old mascot, the venue will offer a wine bar, gourmet brunch, and a discreet downstairs speakeasy with nods to modern luxury and connections to the spirited, roaring twenties. The Mustang Club will open in the fall of 2024.
“I am incredibly honored to be nominated and selected for this position within the CVB Board of Directors,” said Huff. “I have called Bowling Green home since I was a little boy. Our city was and continues to be an incredible place to call home. The secret has gotten out; it is also a great place to work, play, and stay. We have a thriving, tourism-driven hospitality industry here, and I’m very proud to work alongside like-minded professionals within our community who wish to see our area prosper and grow for generations to come.”
Cambridge Market and Cafè owner and general manager, John Hughes, will step into his father’s role on the tourism board. John’s father, Mike Hughes, retired from ownership of Cambridge in 2023 and also served on the tourism board for more than two decades. Incoming board member, John Hughes, recently celebrated the grand re-opening of the Fairview Avenue Cambridge Market location after a comprehensive remodel. The eatery is a family owned cornerstone and John will bring important experience to the tourism board through his involvement in the local restaurant scene.

Existing CVB board members include Chairwoman Michelle Gorman, Vice Chairman Seth McClain, Connor Raymer, Byron Palmiter and Leon Volkert.
