Bowling Green Ballpark

Story and photography by Jimbob Baird

The Bowling Green Hot Rods made history in the month of May by setting a franchise record of winning ten games in a row. In that historic game on May 8, at Bowling Green Ballpark the
red-hot Hot Rods left the field with an 8-1 win over the stricken Peoria Chiefs. The Hot Rods are a minor league affiliate team of the Tampa Bay Rays whose games provide plenty of action for the whole family.

A day at the Ballpark includes the opportunity for fans to catch foul balls, witness scorching home runs, live-action stolen bases, and multiple strikeouts. The family fun theme continues with two roaming mascots, a variety of Concessions, sing-a-longs, playgrounds, and fireworks.
