Leading Ladies: Olivia Kirn

Story by Amelia Bowen
“Handle all things with grace.” That advice from her mother shapes how Olivia Kirn approaches both life and leadership. Staying true to core values like kindness, courage and integrity has guided her path through more than two decades in financial settings. After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 2003, the Columbia native took a job behind a teller counter. What began as a first step out of college grew into a 20-year career across banking and accounting, including time spent in accounting while her daughters were young to maintain family flexibility. Today, as Cash Management Officer at Farmers Bank & Trust, Olivia works directly with local businesses to stream-line daily operations. “It’s not about the size of the business but the client relationships,” Olivia says. “Building meaningful relationships is the type of banker I have always strived to be.” Her commitment to Bowling Green, her home for 28 years, reaches far beyond the bank. Married to her husband Kevin for 18 years, Olivia stays active alongside their daughters, Piper and Meadow. She serves on the board of Life’s Better Together, easing financial burdens for families navigating childhood illness, and volunteers with Stuff the Bus and Salvation Army. Off the clock, the outdoor enthusiast recharges with family board games, kayaking and new adventures.
