Leading Ladies: Rylee Peterson
Story by Amelia Bowen
A part-time college job at Beverly Hills Bargain Boutique unexpectedly set the trajectory for Rylee Peterson’s career. While earning her advertising degree at Western Kentucky University, she discovered a passion for sourcing high-end secondhand clothing. Rylee later launched a successful digital marketing career at Sublime Media Group while reselling apparel on the side. Once the owners of Beverly Hills announced their retirement, Rylee knew it was time to take a leap. Supported by her husband Ben and stepdad Michael, she opened Curated Closet Consignment in that very same location, making luxury fashion accessible to South Central Kentucky. “It was a risk to leave my marketing career, but I knew I would always wonder what if,” Rylee says. “My mission is to give high quality clothing another life while building genuine connections with our consignors and customers.” Active in Bowling Green Young Professionals and the Professional Marketing Association of SOKY, Rylee leads her team with empathy inspired by mentor Kayla Bitner. Outside the store, she supports the Potter Children’s Home, St. Teresa’s, BGWC Humane Society and BRASS, enjoying quiet downtime reading or spending time with Ben and their dogs, Wally and Jude.
