Leading Ladies: Taylor Boswell-Tedder

Story by Amelia Bowen
Though Taylor Boswell-Tedder spent time acting and modeling in New York City and Los Angeles, Bowling Green has always been home. Today, she serves as Chief Operating Officer at Overhead Door Company of Bowling Green, a family business owned by her mother, Jana Boswell, since 1980. Watching her mother excel in construction while raising a family inspired Taylor to step into executive leadership and build a career her children could look up to. In her role, Taylor oversees daily operations, coordinates service schedules and leads her team through industry challenges. Navigating a male-dominated field required developing resilience while staying true to her core values of fairness, kindness and professionalism. “My personal mission is to use my role at Overhead Door to show the love of Jesus to both employees and customers,” Taylor says .Her approach to leadership centers on empathy, mutual respect and leading by example. Guided by her faith and her mother’s mentorship, Taylor works to build a supportive work environment where team members feel valued. “Strong leadership comes from being able to step away from your own presumptions and view life from another’s perspective,” Taylor says. “If I expect others to do what I am asking, they need to know I am willing to do the same.” Outside the office, the WKU and Liberty University graduate prioritizes time with her husband and their two children, Jesse and Daisy. “My advice for younger women is to define yourself first,” Taylor says. “After you answer who you are and what kind of leader you want to be, charting a path to success becomes much easier.”
