Community Leaders in Finance, Insurance & Law: Mark Ford

Story by Amelia Bowen

Few things have shaped Mark Ford’s career more than service. Whether helping members navigate financial decisions, mentoring employees or volunteering throughout the community, he has spent much of his life focused on helping others succeed. Mark has spent more than 15 years helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals while building meaningful connections throughout the Bowling Green community. Since beginning his banking career in 2008, he has led high-performing teams, mentored employees as they advanced in their careers and worked alongside community leaders to support local initiatives. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Bowling Green Class of 2017. As Branch Manager of Service One Credit Union’s Bypass location, Mark says the organization’s commitment to both members and employees is what sets it apart. Through personalized service and a relationship-focused approach, the team strives to make every member feel like part of the family. Volunteering has remained a constant throughout Mark’s life. He has served on the Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department Board since 2010, previously served on the Habitat for Humanity Board and has coached youth sports throughout the years. “There is no greater reward than making a positive difference in someone’s life,” Mark says. “Whether it is seeing a smile on a person’s face or witnessing the emotion that comes from overcoming a challenge with a little support, those moments are truly priceless.” Outside of work, Mark enjoys hiking, fishing and traveling with his family. His advice to young professionals is simple: find strong mentors, learn from setbacks and always lead with integrity. He believes education, preparation and perseverance can help create both personal and financial success.
