Bowling Green’s 40 Under 40: Olivia Howard

When Olivia Howard came to Bowling Green in 2014 to attend Western Kentucky University, she was taking her first steps toward a career she had been curious about since childhood. Growing up in Evansville, Indiana, she often wondered what her mother’s work at the local chamber actually entailed. That lifelong curiosity came full circle when Olivia landed an internship at the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. Over the past nine years, the corporate and organizational communication graduate transformed that college position into a thriving career, advancing to Director of Education & Talent. Today, Olivia manages high impact initiatives like SCK LAUNCH, Bowling Green Young Professionals and Leadership Bowling Green to grow, retain and attract top talent across the region. She credits much of her leadership style to her mentor Sandra Baker, who taught her the art of bridging generational perspectives, slowing down to coach others intentionally and building trust in fast paced environments. Olivia’s passion for youth development extends deep into the community through her active involvement with Refuge Bowling Green, Warren County Public Schools and the Bowling Green Independent School District. When she is not driving regional growth or cheering for her beloved Indianapolis Colts, Olivia stays on the go enjoying downtown community events, spending time outdoors, traveling, diving into a good book and connecting with loved ones. Looking ahead, she remains energized by the opportunity to keep evolving alongside the vibrant community she calls home.
