VIP Top Docs & Health Pros: Amanda Greenwell, D.C.
Story by Amelia Bowen
Growing up receiving regular chiropractic adjustments gave Amanda Greenwell an early appreciation for the body’s natural ability to heal. Today, as the co-owner of Downtown Chiropractic, she channels that lifelong understanding into a practice that emphasizes proactive patient education just as much as hands-on clinical care. By helping local individuals and families understand how their bodies function, she seeks to empower them to take an active, informed role in their long-term systemic wellness. “I want patients to realize they have the power to change their health journey,” Amanda says. “When people understand what is happening in their bodies, they are empowered to make choices that help them thrive.” Amanda earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology before completing her demanding Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. She now delivers expert care to patients of all ages, with a highly specialized passion for working alongside developing infants and expectant mothers. As the lead doctor within the growing practice, her busy days are filled with detailed patient evaluations, precise chiropractic adjustments, targeted dry needling and developing highly personalized care plans designed to meet each patient’s entirely unique needs. One of the largest medical misconceptions Amanda hopes to actively dismantle is the idea that chiropractors only treat simple back pain. She explains that true chiropractic care focuses on optimizing the central nervous system, which directly influences and regulates every single function of the human body. Through the holistic approach utilized at Downtown Chiropractic, patients are encouraged to build consistent, healthy daily habits that support long-term well-being, rather than simply addressing acute physical issues only after they arise. Amanda notes that her profession has continued to expand over the past decade as more people actively seek natural, non-invasive approaches to improving their health. Looking ahead, she hopes patients will become even more informed and proactive about their daily wellness, recognizing that small, positive choices made consistently have a compounding and lasting impact over a lifetime. Outside the office, Amanda prioritizes spending quality time with her husband, Dr. Brad Greenwell, and their three children, Mason, Christian and Addison. Whether she is singing on the praise team at Oakland Baptist Church, teaching history lessons within the local homeschool community or cheering enthusiastically on her children from the baseball stands, family and faith remain at the absolute center of her daily life. Although her husband originally grew up in Kentucky, Amanda notes that the entire family very quickly fell in love with Bowling Green. She highly appreciates the genuine way the local community continually supports one another, and she deeply values the daily opportunity to care for the families who call South Central Kentucky home.
