Leading Ladies: Heather Ford
Story by Amelia Bowen
On any given day at Renew Aesthetics & Wellness, Dr. Heather Ford might shift from reviewing complex lab panels and designing hormone optimization plans to administering precision injectable treatments. Rather than treating internal health and external aesthetics as separate worlds, she brings both under one roof to focus on the entire person. A Scottsville native and Western Kentucky University graduate, Heather spent years working in bedside nursing before earning her doctorate as a nurse practitioner. That clinical foundation taught her that healthcare works best when provider and patient sit down and talk through real solutions together. “My mission is to meet people where they are, listen closely and provide thoughtful, personalized care that helps them feel healthier, more confident and more like themselves,” Heather says. Earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice while managing her career and raising a family required sharp discipline and long hours. That grueling season reshaped how she views both leadership and her practice today. “Leadership is not about having every answer,” Heather says. “It is about creating an environment where people feel respected, supported and motivated to grow. Success means delivering excellent care, being someone patients can rely on and staying present for my family.” At home, Heather and her husband, Brandon Ford, the Allen County Sheriff, focus on family life with their daughter, Gracyn, and attend Victory Hill Church. She is passionate about local initiatives supporting women, children and health literacy across South Central Kentucky. When stepping away from the clinic, Heather recharges through everyday routines with her family, grabbing a 7 Brew coffee, relaxing by the pool or stopping into local downtown spots like Back Down South. “Do not wait until you feel completely ready,” Heather says. “Most meaningful opportunities require us to step forward while we are still learning. Trust the work you have put in, ask questions and remember that your path does not have to look like anyone else’s to be worthwhile.”
