Community Leaders in Finance, Insurance & Law: Wade Browning

Story by Amelia Bowen

Community banking has always been built on relationships, trust and local decision making. Those principles continue to guide Wade Browning in his role as Secondary Market Division Manager and Mortgage Banker at Farmers Bank & Trust. A graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Finance, Wade helps families, professionals and business owners navigate one of life’s most significant financial decisions: homeownership. His goal is to help clients build long-term financial stability through responsible lending and personalized guidance. Founded more than 125 years ago, Farmers Bank & Trust remains independently operated, a distinction Wade believes sets it apart. The bank offers personalized service while maintaining the flexibility to make decisions locally. “The community bank aspect is the best thing about our company,” Wade says. “We still have the ability to build relationships and make decisions locally.” Wade appreciates that Bowling Green has maintained a relationship-based culture despite its continued growth. He points to the city’s diverse economy, thriving business community and unique balance of opportunity and connection as reasons it continues to attract families and businesses alike. Outside of work, Wade enjoys spending time with his wife Alexandra and their three daughters, Isla, Jolie and Landry. He is also passionate about trading and collecting classic cars. His financial advice is simple: live below your means from the beginning, even when you don’t have to. It is a lesson rooted in the values passed down by parents and grandparents and one he believes creates a strong foundation for long-term success.
