Local Business Spotlight: 3 Forks Electrical Ben & Deb Hunt

Story by Amelia Bowen

Starting their own business was a natural next step for Ben and Deb Hunt, built on years of experience and a shared commitment to doing the job right. 3 Forks Electrical is a full-service electrical company serving residential, commercial and agricultural clients across the region. The team handles everything from new construction and remodels to service calls, generator installation and inspection repairs, with a focus on safe, reliable work that customers can trust. Their path into the industry began while building their own home, when Ben worked alongside Deb’s father and developed an interest in the trade. He later expanded his experience with Warren County Schools, where he served as lead electrician. At the same time, Deb gained hands-on knowledge working for local electrical contractors, learning both the business and day-to-day side of the work. Starting their own company felt like the right move. Today, the Hunts operate as a hands-on, family-run team with more than 22 years of combined experience. Their future son-in-law, Thomas, has also joined the business, making it a true family effort. That mindset shows up in every job. Whether it is a large project or a simple repair, the focus stays the same: quality work, clear communication and making sure customers feel confident in what is being done. Their services reach a wide range of clients, and as they like to say, just about everyone needs electrical work at some point. The Hunts draw inspiration from the people who have shaped their journey. For Ben, that includes his time working under Alan Stubblefield at Warren County Schools and the guidance of his mentor and friend Mark Hunton, both of whom helped form his skills and work ethic. For Deb, her inspiration comes from her husband and their daughters, motivating her to continue growing and striving to be her best both personally and professionally. Their journey has not followed a traditional path. Both returned to school in their 40s to grow their careers, with Ben earning his Master Electrician license and Deb completing her degree in accounting before obtaining her Electrical Contractor’s license. They have raised three daughters and are now proud grandparents. When they are not working, they enjoy time on their farm, raising cattle, antiquing and traveling whenever they can. As the area continues to grow, so does the need for dependable service. For the Hunts, that means continuing to show up, do honest work and build relationships that last.
