Why did you choose a career in education?
“I believe God gave me a gift to teach kids and teaching is my purpose.”

What do you love most about teaching?
“I love building relationships with so many different kids. I love challenging them and taking them outside of their comfort zone but showing them how to accomplish hard things while loving them the whole way. My main goal is to equip them with skills to be successful in life! I also love building a classroom culture where students feel safe and eager to support each other.

Another part of teaching that is special to me is my co-workers. Being able to work with people who are equally as passionate about educating and loving students is amazing.”

What has been the most rewarding part of your job?
“Watching students fall in love with math and accomplish things they didn’t think they could is so rewarding! Almost all of my students leave 3rd grade believing they are good at math. I also love hearing stories from kids every day. You never know what you’ll learn!”

Tell us something random most people don’t know about you?
“With my third pregnancy, my water broke in the teacher’s lounge of Potter Gray while my class was in lunch. It was epic. And... I was born in Alaska!”
