Sarah and Lee Ross Dinwiddie

While Sarah (Fuller) was visiting her hometown one weekend while attending college in Lexington, she met Lee Ross at Brickyard. They enjoyed their night getting to know each other but parted ways as she headed back to college. Sarah and Lee Ross kept contact as she finished her degree and searched for a home for her to return to upon graduation.

Lee Ross was creative in planning a special and surprising way to ask Sarah to spend her life with him. While she knew they both viewed a holiday engagement as cliché, Lee Ross knew that Sarah would never suspect a thing as he asked her to measure a place in woods to build a fire pit. On December 24, 2017, they headed into the woods where Lee Ross got on one knee on a rock overlooking the creek. Sarah was completely caught off guard and so excited to be able to celebrate with both of their families who were in town for Christmas.

When it came to planning the wedding, the couple knew they wanted something different but still keeping with traditions and incorporating family every chance possible. Lee Ross and Sarah chose a traditional ceremony and a reception at The Arling at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek. They were able to share their ideas with Lydia Petersen and lay their worries to rest as she planned the wedding of their dreams.

With the goal of a black and white theme with pops of color, the couple agreed on a Great Gatsby meets mid-century modern style reception. From the décor, to the flowers and food, their expectations were exceeded as they enjoyed their perfect wedding day with mini-bites stations and lots of high top tables.

The weather that day and evening allowed the couple and their guests to incorporate the outdoor area making for the perfect space to mingle and enjoy cocktails. The day was exactly how Lee Ross and Sarah had pictured it, a big party, from the trolley ride from the Arling to the church and welcomed by confetti poppers at the grand entrance.
