Janet Pierce

Story by Kayla Fugate

Janet Pierce is a Vice-President of Monticello Banking Company. She started working in the financial industry in 1975 while taking business classes at ULAR with a Mortgage Investor in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her experience started in servicing loans through the escrow department, paying homeowner’s insurance and real estate taxes annually. “I realized the importance of this service to homeowners,” she says.

She and her husband moved to Bowling Green in 1977, and she became a Government Loan Originator for first time home buyers. “My happiest moments were sitting at the closing table of a first-time homebuyer, knowing I had a part in them becoming a homeowner.” Janet believes Bowling Green is a wonderful small city with a large city atmosphere. “It has grown tremendously since my transfer here and is rated as a preference city to live in due to the low crime rate, excellent school systems, industry, churches, etc.” She has been involved with various civic organizations such as the Bowling Green Women’s Club, Kiwanis, Rotary, American Business Women’s Association, Realtors’ Association, and Builder’s Association. “I see many residents giving back to the community. That is what makes Bowling Green a great place to live.” She says that Monticello Banking Company is unique in many ways, such as the personal customer service its employees give and its commitment to the community. “Our employees make the difference,” she says.
