Darren Woodruff is Community President/District Manager for U.S. Bank. He supports United Way, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts of America, Medical Center Foundation, and Local Chambers.

After completing a five-year service in the United States Air Force, he began his banking career in 1996 after graduating from WKU. With 22 years in banking, the past 17 years have been with U.S. Bank, serving in various roles from Branch Manager, Commercial Relationship Manager, and District Manager overseeing retail and business banking operations for 21 offices in 8 counties across South Central Kentucky. He is also a graduate of Leadership Kentucky, and he’s currently enrolled in Pacific Coast Banking School.

He says it is extremely important to support the communities we serve and deliver positive movement to help those in need, ultimately helping to make our communities a better place to live. “Being actively involved in community organizations is a way that I can personally give back through volunteering time and providing financial support,” he says. “Giving back is personally and professionally rewarding, and it’s just the right thing to do.”

Darren says that U.S. Bank offers a broad array of products and services for its customers, delivered with community pride. “Our team is compromised of the finest financial experts in each of our local communities, exhibiting a strong desire to give back and serve through volunteerism.”

Darren’s number one bit of financial advice involves being diligent in your career choice, making sure that your choice is something you enjoy. “Be disciplined with your work ethics and work harder than your competition. Establish trust with people in your life, and build lasting relationships,” he says. “As you start earning money, remember to pay yourself first and live within your means. When you establish credit, always remember that it is your promise to repay as agreed, so make it your personal pledge to always be prompt in servicing your obligations.”
