Chaney's Dairy Barn Celebrates Major Expansion and Enhanced Visitor Experience in Bowling Green

Chaney’s Dairy Barn, a cornerstone of the Bowling Green community and a beloved producer of premium ice cream, announces the completion of a significant expansion of it’s Nashville Road facility. This expansion marks a new era for the company, known for its delicious ice cream and commitment to community engagement.

Since opening in 2003, Chaney’s Dairy Barn has grown from producing 3,000 gallons of ice cream annually to an impressive 25,000+ gallons, with a target of reaching 30,000 gallons in 2024. This expansion includes a newly added 50-seat dining room, designed to cater to RV and bus tours, and enhanced facilities that offer a more immersive and experiential visit for the community and tourists alike. The Chaney family is investing $2,622,275 and creating 10 new jobs with their expansion. “After 20 years in business, we are excited and proud to expand and offer enhanced customer service with new ice cream service lines and be able to allow our customers to watch our ice cream get produced in front of them,” remarked Carl Chaney.

2023 was a landmark year for Chaney’s Dairy Barn and the entire Chaney family. In May they received four gold medals at the prestigious Los Angeles International Dairy Competition. For more than 100 years, the Los Angeles International Competitions have bestowed gold medals to the best wines, spirits, olive oils and dairy products from around the globe, showcasing the winners at the LA County Fair. As if that wasn’t enough, the television icon Guy Fieri paid them a visit in May and highlighted Chaney’s Dairy Barn on his first episode of Guy’s All-American Road Trip Season two on June 2nd.

Mayor Todd Alcott expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion, saying, “Chaney’s Dairy Barn is a prime example of local entrepreneurship and community spirit. Their expansion not only speaks to their business success but also to their role in enhancing the cultural and economic fabric of Bowling Green. We’re proud to have them as a destination in our city.”

“The growth of Chaney’s Dairy Barn is not just a business success story; it’s a testament to our commitment to the Bowling Green community,” said Carl Chaney, owner of Chaney’s Dairy Barn. “This expansion allows us to not only increase our ice cream production, but also to create a space where families, tourists and ice cream lovers can enjoy a unique and engaging experience.”

Warren County Judge-Executive Doug Gorman commented on the impact of the expansion, stating, “The development of Chaney’s Dairy Barn is a significant contribution to our local economy. It goes beyond job creation; it’s about building a community space that brings people together and adds to the charm and appeal of Warren County.”

The expansion features a blend of traditional and high-tech methods in ice cream production, with a special window allowing visitors to witness the ice cream making process. The addition of a barn silo further immerses visitors in the authentic dairy experience.

Chaney’s Dairy Barn’s commitment to the community extends beyond delicious ice cream. The expansion has created ten new jobs, primarily in support roles, offering valuable training and career-starting opportunities for local teens and high school students.

“On behalf of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank Chaney’s for over 20 years of Chamber partnership, reinforcing their commitment to their success and the success of other businesses in the community,” added Ron Bunch, President and CEO of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. “Their evolution reflects the dynamic growth of our region and underscores Bowling Green’s appeal as a hub for both business and tourism.”

As Chaney’s Dairy Barn embarks on this exciting new chapter, it continues to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of the Bowling Green area, serving as a model of business success intertwined with community enhancement.
