Brandy Zackery is a Professional Engineer and Project Manager- Civil Design for Arnold Consulting Engineering Services, Inc. After being out of high school for ten years, she went back to Western Kentucky University to pursue an engineering degree. “Almost ten years after graduating, I still love what I do, which is the most important thing,” she says.

She and her husband have been married for sixteen years and are avid WKU Athletic Supporters. She also loves to travel. “I’m a firm believer that you must work hard but you must also vacation hard,” she says.

Brandy believes that self-care prevents one from becoming overwhelmed and burned out, no matter how much you love your job. Brandy also tries to give back to the community as much a possible. She is currently serving as the President of the Bowling Green Jr. Women’s Club. “I love this organization because we work with numerous non-profit organizations in the community by both donating our time and money,” she says. She especially loves the Coats 4 Kids program each year in partnership with the Bowling Green Police Department. She is also a CASA volunteer. “CASA is such an important organization that provides a much-needed service to the children.”

Brandy also enjoyed serving on United Way’s Handbags for Hope committee this year.
She says that it is important for young women entering the business world to be persistent in reaching their goals. “Most importantly,” she says, “Be true to your personal values and enjoy what you do!”
