Brandon Smith didn’t grow up in South Central Kentucky, therefore he never quite realized how strong the area programs were until he experienced it for himself. He came to the area to play at WKU and when that was over, in 2010, he landed himself a job at South Warren, where he has been ever since.

“I have really enjoyed the experience,” he said. “There are some really good programs and great coaching collectively in the area. There are some really neat places to stay and this area has by far surpassed my expectations.”

Smith says he has two people from his past who have mentored and inspired him. His father  inspired him to become a coach in the first place and Mark Nelson, whom Smith coached under upon starting his career, also taught him some invaluable lessons.
