The Rewinders: Sounds of Memphis

Story and photography by Jimbob Baird

The sounds and rich musical history of the town known as Memphis by the big river came to Bowling Green at The Southern Kentucky Performing Center on Saturday, February 15. Orchestra Kentucky, The Rewinders, Billy Duvall Jr, Tyrone Dunn, and other great vocalists took ownership of the stage at SKyPAC. Members of the audience were seen singing along to “Mustang Sally,” and swaying to the soulful “Dock of the Bay.”

The Retro Concert was the first of a series for 2020 which is sponsored by Jim Johnson, and the near sell-out left just a handful of open seats in the high altitude section.
