Story and photography by Shelley Lowe

Many organizations have finally been able to have their in person events after taking a Covid hiatus. Relay for Life was back and better than ever at Stadium Park Plaza on June 4th. The American Cancer Society fundraiser featured selfie stations, games, activities and food trucks as well as the inspiring survivors who walked around the bases and a luminaria ceremony honoring lives lost or impacted by cancer. Though the event has shifted away from being an all-nighter, it was an impactful few hours to honor and encourage those affected by cancer. Be sure to follow the local Relay for Life Facebook page to get involved in their events!
