Gingerbread for the Arts

Story and photography by Grace Armes

On November 20th, Bowling Green kicked off the 2021 holiday season at SkyPac, presenting the 7th Annual Gingerbread Homes for the Arts Festival. Friends and family were invited to enjoy local and live entertainment, festive concessions, pictures on Santa’s lap and kits to build your own gingerbread house from 10am-2pm on Saturday. Along with the family friendly festivities was the display of gingerbread houses that were entered into the Gingerbread contest the previous week. Entries ranged from individuals to local college students, even entries out of Lexington, KY, were entered into the contest. The winner was awarded a cash prize sponsored by Graves Gilbert Clinic. Baird, Graves Gilbert Clinic and Atmos Energy sponsored the event.
