Story and photography by Magen Estep

As the second part of the Winter Sprinter Race Series, the Frozen 4 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk was held at Ephram White Park. Each year, this event raises money to support a local high school athlete with a medical issue needing financial assistance. The beneficiary for 2021 was a high school football player, Damarie Lyons.

The hosts of the event did a great job making a live race happen in our community for the first time in months. All participants signed up for different time frames to avoid any crowding at the park or on the track. For more information on next year’s race, follow their social media pages.
