It is December and we are all gearing up for Christmas and the New Year. Within this combined December/January issue we are excited to bring you our Holiday Gift Guide with many ideas on how to shop local this holiday season. We have great gift ideas for her from HeartStrings, Fox and Flask, Embellish and many others and always exciting gifts for him from FHG Clothiers and more!

Our home feature walks you through a home on Kentucky Street celebrating its 137th Christmas in Bowling Green. Todd and Ashlea Porter have renovated and restored this amazing home that will be open to the public for the Landmark Association and Women’s Club Christmas Tours this December.

This issue, our Give, Care, Share features a nonprofit in our community CASA of South Central Kentucky. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Across from this story is a highlight of their Fall event, the Superhero 5k and Kids Fun Run. As a past Board Member of CASA, I am aware of the need for continued support and volunteers to serve the children of South Central Kentucky. Make sure you read this story and look for ways you could serve as well.

Our event coverage this issue also include some of Bowling Green most talked about events, from all of the Homecoming Festivities at Western Kentucky University to the always awaited for Med Center Health Foundation Charity Ball, you won’t want to skip a page while flipping through. We always enjoy covering community events and hope you check out the event calendars to see what is upcoming over the next few months and get out and get involved in the community.

As always, thank you for being a loyal reader. We work hard to bring you a magazine that can truly be utilized as more than just a quick read. We want to be a must-have resource for all things Bowling Green. Without your submissions, suggestions and feedback we could never be as comprehensive as we are.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you in February.
