Local Matters! The hashtag that our local television station WNKY uses and that I like to live by because I am a strong supporter of all things local! Growing up in a family where my grandparents owned a trophy shop and my dad owned a local sporting goods store in downtown Franklin, I have always been a part of local businesses. Moving to Bowling Green just expanded that love even more!

Bowling Green is a big town with even bigger heart and it shows every day! From the small businesses in town who thrive from the local support to the non-profits with more and more people showing up to volunteer, we are all lucky to live in this great town! When I first moved here, Bowling Green Junior Woman’s Club was the piece of the puzzle that made it all fit together. I greatly enjoy being a part of such a passionate organization of woman who share the same love for giving back to others.

Our issue this month has a theme Live Local and it means so much more than just living. Our community wraps their arms around those in need, those struggling and boosts those succeeding. We are excited to bring you a look inside why Bowling Green is such a great place to live and introduce you to those local entrepreneurs who are continuing to make our town grow!

Our Give, Care, Share this month is Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky which has been near to my heart since Bowling Green Junior Woman’s Club partnered with them as the beneficiary of the Hangover Classic where we promoted athletic equality.

While you are enjoying both of our month’s themes, I hope that you are also checking out all of the event coverage from Bowling Green over the past few weeks! With the Grown Up Easter Egg hunt allowing us to feel like a kid and hunt for eggs to seeing local kids shine at their school theatre performances… you won’t want to miss them!

As always, thank you for being a loyal reader. We work hard to bring you a magazine that can truly be utilized as more than just a quick read. We want to be a must-have resource for all things Bowling Green. Without your submissions, suggestions and feedback we could never be as comprehensive as we are.

Enjoy! See you in June!
