On Saturday, August 25th Western Kentucky University’s Master Plan held its annual Big Red Blitz. Master Plan is an opportunity for incoming Freshman to move-in on campus a week early, and participate in a variety of preparatory activities for the semester. Big Red Blitz is a program within Master Plan that gives the opportunity for Freshman to volunteer at a number of local non profit agencies/organizations, or WKU departments with community ties. Students sign up to work with a specific organization in a four-hour service project. Non-profits this year included the Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity and and Kids On the Block.
