Drink of the Month: The Scarlet Peppernel

Enjoy the flavors of summer with the Scarlet Peppernel! From the mind David Byrd, bartender and spirits enthusiast, comes a crisp, light cocktail that’s sure to beat the heat on a hot summer’s day.

Sweet with a touch of spice, we begin with fresh summer strawberries and sweet mint in a highball glass. Gently muddle the fruit and mint until the strawberries become soft and juicy. Add an earthy kick with a shot of black Peppercorn infused vodka, for a subtle spice (1 1/2 oz).
Bring balance to the cocktail with a shot of fresh squeezed lime juice (1 1/2 oz) and agave syrup (1 1/2 oz). Stir all the contents together to bind flavors, top with a splash of bubbly club soda and fill with ice. Stir and enjoy!

Entertaining guests or feeling fancy? Garnish with a sprig of mint, fresh cut strawberries, and/or a dash of fresh-cracked, black peppercorn kernels!
