VIP Top Docs & Health Pros: Cory Gearalds, APRN

Story by Amelia Bowen

Confidence isn’t something you can bottle or buy. But for many people, it begins the moment they recognize themselves in the mirror again. That is the moment Cory Gearlds hopes to create every day. As an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, cosmetic injector and co-owner of RENEW Aesthetics and Wellness, Cory has spent a decade helping patients feel more comfortable in their own skin. Aesthetic medicine is frequently viewed as simply a way to look younger, but he sees it differently. For him, the work is about helping someone walk out the door standing a little taller than when they walked in. “My favorite part isn’t the treatment itself,” Cory says. “It’s seeing someone’s confidence come back.” That mindset shapes the culture at the Scottsville Road practice. Rather than chasing fleeting trends or dramatic transformations, Cory focuses on subtle results that help people look naturally refreshed while preserving the unique facial features they were born with. On a fast-paced day, he might consult with 20 to 30 patients, treating each person as an individual by listening to their concerns and creating a long-term plan tailored just for them. His path into healthcare started early. Growing up, Cory watched his mother work as a nurse and saw firsthand the compassion and dedication that healthcare professionals can have on a person’s life. Those experiences inspired him to follow a medical path where he could make a meaningful difference every day. When he discovered aesthetic medicine in 2016, everything clicked. The specialty gave him the rare chance to combine medical science with artistry while building lasting relationships with patients. Today, Cory shares that expertise on a larger scale. He serves as a national trainer for the Allergan Medical Institute, traveling across the country to teach advanced injection techniques and patient anatomy safety to other clinicians. Continuing to learn and share that industry innovation ultimately benefits the people who trust him with their care back home in South Central Kentucky. Even with professional opportunities that take him across the United States, Bowling Green is where Cory wanted to build his business and his life. After living here for 20 years, the city has truly become home. He and his wife, Lauren, are raising their two daughters, Stella and Margot, in the community. Outside the office, his focus completely shifts to family, whether they are traveling to new destinations, spending a day at the lake or simply enjoying downtime with close friends. His passion for serving others also extends deep into the local community. Cory is actively involved with Leadership Bowling Green, Hillvue Heights Church and the United Way of Southern Kentucky, where he notably served as Chair for Handbags for Hope, one of the region’s premier fundraising events. Ask Cory what guides him as a healthcare provider and his answer is simple: treat every patient the way you would want a member of your own family to be treated. It is an approach that has earned RENEW the trust of patients throughout the region, though Cory is quick to share the credit for that success. He notes that the brand is built on a whole team of talented individuals who are just as invested in the patient experience as he is. At the end of the day, Cory believes that when people feel good about themselves, it positively impacts their relationships, careers and overall quality of life. True confidence isn’t really about appearance anyway. It is about helping people feel like the best version of themselves both inside and out.
