As December rolls in, most homes begin to glow with holiday lights and festive décor, but few capture the spirit of Christmas quite like Chad and Catherine Delpont’s home. From the moment you step through the front door, the holiday spirit is everywhere. This is no ordinary holiday setup—it is a labor of love, a family tradition turned into an art form. With 37 Christmas trees, dozens of themed displays and ornaments collected over the years, every corner of the house radiates warmth and joy.
Chad and Catherine, who moved into the house in 2022, have made decorating a central part of their family life. “We’ve done it forever—pretty much since we got married,” Catherine says. “We keep the main colors the same in some rooms but we change things up every year. We add new things constantly. We have a huge closet full of Christmas décor—some gets used, some doesn’t.” Elaborate staircases are wrapped in garland, themed trees are tucked into unexpected corners and the living room glows with carefully placed ornaments and shimmering lights. Every room tells a story.
Creating this holiday wonderland is no small task. Starting at the end of October, the Delponts spend about six weeks decorating, mostly on weekends. “It takes months,” Catherine admits. Despite hectic schedules—Chad travels frequently for work and Catherine teaches—everything is done by hand. Even a special visit from Catherine’s aunt from Mobile brought extra magic to the staircase display. The result is breathtaking: rooms that sparkle and feel effortlessly welcoming.
The home itself reflects as much care as the décor. When they purchased it, it required extensive renovations. Almost all of the rooms needed remodeling, but one of their favorite part of the home is that it is handicap accessible. "The family that built this home had a daughter who was handicapped so it features an elevator and wide walkways," Catherine says. "This allowed us to host my father and give him the ability to move freely around our home when he visits." A house that once wasn’t livable has become a space that balances function with festive beauty.
Amid the chaos, family traditions remain central. Sunday movie nights at 6 p.m., complete with popcorn and cozy blankets, are a weekly ritual. Their favorite holiday movie is Home Alone, a choice that never fails to inspire laughter and a bit of nostalgia.
The house also shows a playful side. A bourbon and UK-themed tree, the Home Alone house they built from legos and ornaments that reflect the things they love throughout the home. Every detail, from sparkling lights to functional renovations, reflects careful thought and a dedication to family life.
Above all, what makes this home extraordinary is the vision behind it: not simply a beautifully decorated space but a place where memories are made and traditions flourish. “We hope one day our kids look back and remember this as something special. That’s what makes all of this worth it,” Catherine says. It is a home that celebrates love, family and the joy of shared experiences.
Walking through the house, visitors are immersed in a living Christmas card. The lights glimmer, the ornaments catch your eye and the scent of pine and spices lingers in every hallway. Every detail reflects hours of effort, yet the atmosphere is inviting, warm and joyous. This is a home where Christmas is more than a date on the calendar—it is a feeling woven into every room, every hallway and every cherished memory.
